Ok I’m biased.

But I think I have the cutest baby in the world…

Which is not surprising, considering how good-looking her mom is!

See? What can I say? =)

Yup! That’s my beautiful wife and daughter!

Baby Alethea’s almost 4 months old now, and growing prettier and cuter every day! While she’s not yet able to talk, she has already started to mouth sounds and I’m targeting her first recognisable word by the time she’s 6 months old!

Too soon? Why not? =)

Then last sunday (10 Sept), we brought Alethea to the airport for the first time. It was quite disappointing actually, because we had actually wanted baby to see some planes, but the weather was wet and the windows were all fogged up.

Still we managed to take some pictures of baby with mummy. Daddy, of course, is conveniently out of the pictures again…

Alethea is growing to become more and more charming. Even when she’s just lying there playing by herself, she is so SO adorable!

She has this habit of holding her own hands in front like a little squirrel and you just want to get down and kiss her every time she smiles while doing that!

But of course, it doesn’t get too exciting when you get this from her:

Sometimes I wonder… Milk goes in white, and it’s the only thing babies drink. Why does it come out in differing shades of GREEN then? Hmm… Shit for thought…

I left baby Alethea alone on the mattress next to the sofa for a while and a moment later when I returned from the room, Alethea was already having such a rolling good time that she was…

Apparently she just rolled and rolled and rolled and rolled and rolled and…

Seeing baby Alethea everyday brings great joy to me, no matter how bad a day I had.

Like today was a crazily busy day, and I was so busy that the hours just passed without me knowing and I was working and working that by the time I realised it, it was already 7pm!

Yet nothing beats coming home to see and play with baby! And no matter what expression she shows, baby will always be so sweet and adorable!

Alethea has recently grown fond of playing peekaboo… on herself! She will grab her nappy cloth and excitedly pull it over her face. In the moment right after her sight is covered, she’d freeze and then she’ll go into a kicking and screaming frenzy!

Sometimes she’ll scream and kick away the cloth from her face and when she can see again, she’ll grin at her self-amusement… Cute right?!

I took this picture while baby was plonked on mummy, sleeping… It’s such a beautiful sight that I quickly took out my phone and snapped a few memorable pictures…

She was sleeping so soundly, it was truly angelic, despite all the saliva and open mouth.

Then the sweetest thing happened… It was as if she felt the love from mummy and daddy in her dreams and she started to smile in her sleep! How can anyone not love her?

It’s Baby Alethea’s first Children’s Day and here’s another charming picture of baby Alethea!

 

She is now strong enough to push herself up pretty high. I’m sure very soon she’ll be able to crawl! That would be so exciting, but then I’ll have to start worrying about making sure every corner of the house is baby-safe.

Alethea has developed double eyelids! She’s going to grow up to be a BEAUTIFUL young girl!

Besides that, she has also recently tasted diluted cereal and beginning to eat solid food!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Super Alethea! She recently has this habit of lifting up her hands and legs and balancing on her little tummy, as if she’s flying in the air!

The funniest thing is, when she’s suspended in that position, she’ll look up at daddy and mummy and when she spots us adoring her, she’ll smile and get into another of her kicking and waving frenzies…

The best (and only) time when Alethea would allow you to pull her lower lip down long enough for you to take a picture of her two gleaming white teeth is when she just wakes up! So here you have it, the first clear and decent picture of her first teeth!

Alethea can now easily get on her hands and knees and half drag, half crawl herself along the way, and pretty fast too! She has also recently been standing herself up using the sofa as a prop! And she’s only what, 7 1/2 months old?

Here’s Alethea having fun at her baby chair last night (note how she twiddles her fingers)!

She’s capable of much more facial expressions now and has been trying to articulate her sounds. She has been going “ah-mmmmm” and just last night, on this very chair, mixed her “mmmm” with her lip-smacking to form her very first “ma” sounds!

Indeed, she even went “ma-meee” several times (though I doubt she knows what that means yet) but too bad mommy is not around to hear that!

And guess what we saw halfway through the night? I’ve only heard and read about babies hitting their heads on the edge of the cot when they kick their way up during their sleep, but kicking their way down?

She is indeed different from all the rest!
